That's right, people. Exactly half a decade ago on this very day, Yaoi-Fans-Unite was created. To mark this little celebration, I've decided that everyone who reads and comments this will get a single (must be yaoi themed) deviation featured on our next blog entry.

Now, I know that this group hasn't made any significant changes in the last several months, and neither has it been able to keep up regular updates as of late. However, I would like to think that maybe this year we can start effecting more necessary changes.

I've been considering a fresh start for the group (i.e. wiping the gallery clean, revising existing group policies, etc) in order to make it happen. But before I do anything, I want to know what you all think. Tell me everything you believe is ordered and messy with the group. Lets have a conversation on how we can make it better and not worse.

The reason I'm doing this is because it is very hard to get things done when only a few people are willing to cooperate, and it is even more difficult when one is busy with other matter with real life. I really don't want to let this group die out, but at the same time we are all going to need to help one another out for this to succeed.

Thank you very much for your time.

Sincerely,
:iconthetruedarkness:

EXTRAS:

* Before I forget, here is another yaoi group :iconblyaoibl: that you guys ought to check out.

* I recommend you guys submit as many blog entries as you can, if only to encourage others to read and write some more :)

* * I plan to start my (previously dead) story prompts sometime soon, so stay tuned!

I also feel like the single character thing needs to be re-evaluated. I've seen it as a problem in other yaoi groups as well; people will submit a drawing of a male character who could very well not be gay and assume they can get away with it because there just isn't enough context to definitively say the character counts as yaoi or not. The other problem with single characters is that sometimes its also very hard to tell if the character is actually male. I've seen some single character submissions (and even couple ones too) in yaoi groups that I have a really hard time believing the character is male. I just find it frustrating as a watcher to be going through the deviations in my inbox and suddenly I'm stopped by "wait... that's not yaoi...???" or "uhm... that's not a dude..."
That's my two cents anyway. x3
